“Ma when I pick up my camera and shoot
you and your body, I see you better. When
I don’t use my own eye and rely on the
camera’s, I learn to recognise you
better too. My own gaze disappoints me. I
love you so much when the camera looks
at you because sometimes (okay, most
times) it reminds me of death. And in that
acknowledgement I want to miss no part of
you—no reaction, no body posture and no
characteristic. I want to see you through.
Through and through.”

Our mascot writes all ALMA Staff pieces. ORI is whimsical and unpredictable; we’ve tried being friends with him and failed.
